Island of Lokrum magic
Where to start....to say we had an amazing wedding would be a huge understatement. We decided to get married and organise our wedding in only 3 months, it was a last minute decision but that’s how we do things, we did not want to spend a year planning our special day. I came across doyouwedme.com after we decided Dubrovnik was going to be the location for the big day.
The start
I clicked the 'drop us a line' link on the website and put a few ideas in to send. From the first response I received from Kristina (Kiki) I knew she was going to be the one to organise the wedding. She was extremely helpful and always replied to our emails promptly, which was amazing. The also seemed genuine and wanted to know our ideas and plans first before she gave us options. This is not something we found with some other wedding planners we contacted. The emails flowed back and forth over the next few months and as we had no real idea what we wanted to do, Kiki sent us examples of locations, reception venues, transport methods, photographers portfolios, you name it, all the things we would need to make the decisions a little more easy.
Planning
Everything that we organised for the day came off without a hitch thanks to Kiki and her team ruining around in the background to make sure things happened on time. We organised the wedding on the island of Lokrum which just happened to be the setting for the city of Karth in the Game of Thrones TV series, this meant boat journeys and lots of logistics, but Kiki breezed through it to pull off one heck of a ceremony and all of our guests were gobsmacked at how relaxed, un-fussy and spectacular the day was.
Reception
Apart from the few mumbled and slurred words I muttered in Croatian to Kiki during my speech, the reception details Kiki organised also came off without a hitch.
Registry Office
Another credit to Kiki was the fact that she herself picked us up and took us to the registry office to sign the official documents both before and after the ceremony as per the requirements in Croatia. This was a really nice touch on her part as we would not have a clue about marriage legislation in the country.
Communication
We couldn’t thank Kiki enough for the amazing day. She was extremely friendly and approachable and after all the emails and Skype calls back and forth before the wedding, when we finally met her, it was like we knew her very well. Kiki is a credit to her profession and we whole heartedly recommend using her services to plan the most important day of your life.
Hope to see you around soon
We plan on heading back to Dubrovnik for our anniversary and we will definitely be contacting Kiki to say hello.
